Branko Brezovec’s play “Galileo Bound” is inspired by Aeschylus’s “Prometheus Bound” and Bertolt Brecht’s “The Life of Galileo: In Aeschylus’s “Prometheus Bound” Zeus is omnipotent and Prometheus is clairvoyant. Tyrant’s fate depends on prisoners. This opposition moves the universe. Predominance is limited by ignorance and the knowledge is limited by predominance. In God’s economy the sum of world sufferings has to remain unchanged.

Discussion and news briefing on the play “Lysistrata” staged by “Ljubomir Kabakchiev” Theatre from Bulgaria will take place on the fourth day of “Teuta 2009” Festival in the small hall of the Cultural Center in Kotor at 12 am. A controversial multimedia artist Ilija Soskic, who expresses his art through interaction, performance of “tableau vivant”, photography, gesture-object, interactive installation and video, will be performing the same night.

15th Music Festival “Pjesma Mediterana” starts tonight in Budva: Audiences will have the opportunity to listen to 18 new songs. Mario Prizmic and harmony-singing group “Portun” will open the first semi-final night. Nesad Selman will perform second, and within the first contest night we will have a chance to enjoy the songs of Sara Kobold, Andrej Ilic, Edo Sellier, band “Feminem” and Joce Panov. The only Montenegrin participant in the reality show “Operation Triumph” Nina Petkovic will compete in this year’s Mediterranean Song Contest.

The KotorArt Music Festival will be open by Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra on 13th July under the baton of Aleksey Shatsky: Famous Croatian pianist Ivo Pogorelich will perform on 16th July in the Church of the Holy Spirit, and he will play Chopin, Ravel and Sibelius. The programme of the KotorArt Festival includes miscellaneous thematic concerts such as Classica alla Jazz, Film Music, Spanish Serenade, May I Have This Dance?, Sound Elegance, Back to Roots, Serbian Contact, etc.

Crisis that hit Budva threaten to lower the curtain over one of the most popular festivals:
After 22 years of existence, many a rise and a few falls, the Theatre City Budva seems to lower its curtain this summer, for good. It is a miracle that despite the hard times of sanctions, bombing, dismissal of managers during the festival, it still survived and became the most outstanding cultural event in the country. -
