Madonna, one of world’s greatest stars of all times, is arriving to Montenegro today. She is expected to perform tonight before estimated 60,000 of her fans at Budva’s beach of Jaz.

According to the announcements, Madonna will stay in Budva till 27 September, when she will leave for Athens to do her last performance at European part of her “Sticky and Sweet” tour.

Madonna will stay with her children in 385-square-meters presidential suite of “Splendid” hotel. She will have three rooms and three bathrooms at her disposal, as well as the balcony with the view to the sea.

Madonna will be transferred from “Splendid” to the concert ground by a helicopter, where she will be met by a small town which has been built in the backstage area, behind the stage which will be 90 meters wide, 50 meters deep and 2, 5 meters high.

Members of Madonna’s team started arriving to Podgorica’s airport yesterday. Dancers, members of the band and other members of her staff were, in most cases, not in the mood to talk to reporters. “We have a great show ahead of us, a true spectacle”, some of them said, after which they have been warned by a senior member of the staff not to give any interviews.

Madonna’s concerts are world-famous as genuine spectacles, which contain obligatory flavor of provocation and often prompt negative reactions from religious and political leaders.

As has been the case at her previous concerts during “Sticky and Sweet” tour, Madonna will change her clothes eight times and show fascinating collection of stage-costumes which have been custom-made for this occasion by world-leading designers, including Jean Paul Gautier, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent, as well as house of fashions “Miu Miu”, “Givenchy” and “Moschino”.

One million pounds worth of Swarovski crystals will be at the stage, while the band-members would be dressed in designer clothes signed by Tom Ford.

During her two-hour performance, Madonna will be supported by 20 dancers and 12 member of the band.

Concert itself will be divided into four sections.

First part, called “Pimp”, presents a tribute to 1920s, in combination with modern American-type gangster-look. In this part of spectacle, Madonna appears on stage in Givenchy’s costume, which is, of course, designed for this purpose.

“Pimp” is followed by “Old School” section, where Madonna performs in rhythms which ruled the dance-floors during 1980s, when most popular singer of today earned her fame.

Third part of the concert is called “Gypsy” and is dedicated to Madonna’s hit “La Isla Bonita”. It also includes, as the name suggest, elements of Roma music and sounds of instruments characteristic for this culture.

Concert ends with the modern – section called “Rave” - which promises heated atmosphere.

Based on the data about the number of tickets sold, as well as the reputation of this musician which will entertain the audience from Montenegro and abroad, it is expected that Madonna’s concert at Jaz might be the most important music event in the history of Montenegro.

The only performance of the Queen of Pop in the region is organized by the Municipality of Budva, local and National Tourist Organizations and “Prva banka Crne Gore” bank. Companies “Live Nation”, “Komuna” and “Patent” are in charge of production.

Set list will include following songs:

Slim Chances for Rain

Weather at Jaz tonight will be chilly, but it is most likely that the rain will not spoil the spectacle.

“According to the data available at the moment, weather in Budva is expected to remain dry. Chances for rain are reasonably slim. Wind will blow from northern direction. Temperature will range between 14 and 16 degrees”, says Dusan Pavicevic, weather forecaster and editor of Television “Vijesti’s” weather forecasting center.

Gates Open at 6 pm

Gates to the concert area at Jaz will open at 6 pm tonight. Organizers advise visitors to come as early as possible, in order to take best places possible.

Before Madonna, Robin will perform several songs, starting at 8 pm. Following 30 minutes of his performance, there will be a planned break of some 20 minutes. It is expected that Madonna would appear on the stage at 9 pm. Her concert will last precisely one hour and 52 minutes.

As there are less than 1,000 tickets left, according to the most recent data, it is expected that the number of visitors at Jaz would be around 60,000 people, most of which will come from abroad.

“There will be 2,000 parking places for VIP visitors. We appeal to the visitors to use the parking lot which is situated in the vicinity of the concert area – the parking lot at Lastva offers 10,000 places – or to come on foot, in order to avoid traffic jams”, organizers have claimed.

Bus transportation will be arranged from Budva to Jaz at the price od Euro 1,5.

It will not be allowed to take professional recording equipment into the concert area.

300 chemical lavatories will be at disposal of the visitors, as well as seven medical teams, who will provide assistance to any visitor which might encounter medical problems.

Audience area of 30,000 square meters is covered with pebbles in order to avoid creation of mud, in case there is rain, after all.
