FDI exceeded €1 billion in 2007
Foreign direct investment in Montenegro amounted to more than €1 billion in 2007, according to the Central Bank, 56 percent more than in 2006.
The difference between the inflow and outflow of the FDI increased 12.5 percent, amounting to €524.9 million. Investments in real estate accounted for the majority of the inflow, at as much as 51 percent, while 37.5 percent was invested in local companies and banks.
Outflow stood at €482.8 million, of which at least three quarters was concentrated in real estate, €62.5 million was invested in Montenegrin companies abroad, and €53 million was counted as foreign capital withdrawal.
