Visit-Montenegro.com: Alpinists heading towards the summit

The hour has struck to conquer Mount Everest: International expedition with five Montenegrin alpinists sets off to the summit of Mount Everest tonight. A member of the expedition notified that in the night between Monday and Tuesday, another half a meter of snow fell on the North Col and everything looked like “Christmas fairytale”.

Podgorica – An international expedition, including five Montenegrin alpinists, intends to conquer Mount Everest tonight.

“If weather conditions allow, we should reach the summit in the night between Wednesday and Thursday in our time. All expeditions from the northern side have already returned, so there shouldn’t be crowded. We all hope that the forecasts will prove to be true and that we will have nice weather for two or three days, while we will take care of everything else,” the expedition leader Dragan Jacimovic said in his latest report.

As Daily “Vijesti” published earlier, the expedition climbed the North Col on Monday at 7.100 meters height above sea level, and they planned ascent of the camp C2 at 7.700 meters yesterday.

A member of the expedition – Simona Pogac – sent word yesterday morning that entire team, including Montenegrin alpinists Djordjije Vujicic, Dusan Vujic, Dragutin Vujovic, Marko Blecic and Ivan Lakovic, “feels fine”.

Pogac notified that in the night between Monday and Tuesday, another half a meter of snow fell on the North Col and everything looked like “Christmas fairytale”.

Pogac informed that the expedition faced certain problems – namely, oxygen bottles were stolen and then returned to them, and on earlier occasion the same thing happened to their food.
