Tourism Organization of Budva adopted financial plan: During the conference of General Assembly of TO Budva, the report on implementation of the agenda and the final balance sheet for 2008, as well as the financial plan for 2009 were adopted.
The European Dance Federation (EDF) decided to hold European Championship in Modern Dance in Budva this year, and the event will take place on 6th and 7th June within the first “Budva – Europe Dance Festival”.
Budva – The budget of the Tourism Organization (TO) of Budva for this year will be somewhat less than EUR 1.5 million, and the most money will be disbursed on promotional activities of the city, as it was announced yesterday during the conference of General Assembly of TO Budva, where the report on implementation of the agenda and the final balance sheet for 2008, as well as the financial plan for 2009 were adopted.
“The financial plan was drawn up in co-operation with the local Department of Economy and Finance. The budget amounts to EUR 1,45 million, or EUR 1,17 million without transfers from 2008. The revenue structure is as follows: EUR 950.00 from sojourn tax, membership charges EUR 100.000, tourist taxes EUR 90.000 and EUR 30.000 from sponsorships. According to the plan, money raised from sojourn tax and membership charges should be less than it amounted in 2008, considering the fact that this tourism season is specific in many aspects,” the General Manager of TO, Jelena Radjenovic, said adding that TO closed last year with positive business results.
The money resources earmarked for creating promotional material, publishing activities, fair and stock exchange activities is EUR 540.121, while for cultural, entertaining, sport and other events as well as for sponsorships it is earmarked EUR 430.000.
“Maintenance of tourist-informative offices will cost EUR 10.000, and there have been a lot of cuts in comparison to last year. Employee earnings and other reimbursements related to earnings and personal incomes are on the same level as in 2008 and amount in total EUR 296.242, while other expenses for regular services and functioning of the Management Department are less than they were in 2008 and amount up to EUR 75.000”, Radjenovic said.
Taking into account last season, she said that Budva was visited by 516.528 tourists last year and the figure related to registered overnight stays was 3.294.062.
“Budva generated nearly half of overall tourism turnover in Montenegro” – concluded Radjenovic.
