Zlatko Manojlovic on the” Guitar Art Summer Fest”: Classical guitar experiences a renaissance worldwide and in our country, as well. Ian Irving, the Dutch guitarist of a Czech origin finalized the second night of the “Guitar Art Summer Fest” on the Square of Music. Zlatko Manojlovic & friends will perform tonight on Kanli kula (Kanli Tower).

Herceg Novi- Classical guitar experiences a renaissance worldwide and in our country, as well. Since this instrument is incredibly popular recently there are so many classical guitar festivals. Guitar Art Festival is a brand which in last ten years brought about a miracle in Montenegro and Serbia. “In Belgrade, the budget for this event is bigger than the budget for any other classical guitar festival in the world”-Nemanja Ostojic said, two nights ago, after the concert on Music Square within the program of summer international guitar festival in Herceg Novi. Ostojic played, accompanied on the piano by Haruka Nakashima, the compositions by Agustin Barrios Mangore and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
This is his second appearance on the festival in Herceg Novi after he won, in 2006, the 1st prize at Guitar Art Festival in this city. He graduated from Academy of Music in Belgrade and won master’s degree at Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University. Currently, he is a student of the “Artist Diploma” program at the same university. Meanwhile, he won first prizes on four international prestigious competitions in USA. He performed in France, Italy, Greece, Spain and recorded his first live album in Milan, Italy. His first studio album is almost finished.
Ian Irving, the Dutch guitarist of a Czech origin, who studied music at Academy of Music “Franz Liszt” in Weimar, then at “Brabants” Conservatory in Tilburg, Holland(now he works at the college “Hogeschool voor Muziek” in Holland) finalized the second night of the “Guitar Art Summer Fest” on the Square of Music. On his wide repertoire, there were, to the full satisfaction of the audience which gave him a rousing ovation, Sor, Rodrigo and Ravel Agustin Barrios Mangore.
Zlatko Manojlovic & friends will perform tonight on Kanli kula (Kanli Tower). Manojlovic started his career in the band “Dzentlmeni” (“Gentlemen”) in 1970. His piece of instrumental music”Jednoj zeni” (“To a woman”) is theme music in the night program on radio Belgrade for 33 years now.
