Festivity on water “Bokeljska noc” originally named the “Venecijanska noć” (“Venetian night”)- dates from the end of the XIX century. Between two World Wars it was renamed the “Night of Boka”. Several of these events have been remembered; in the year of 1938 Edward, the King of England and the British Fleet attended the celebration, in 1959 two celebrations took place – one in August, the other on September 6th arranged in honour of Josip Broz Tito, who was then the leader of Yugoslavia. On this occasion almost complete Yugoslavian fleet was involved.
