Collection of utility charges in the municipality of Budva has sharply decreased; Kuljača is optimistic: - So far, the municipality of Budva collected only €14.5 million from utility charges- the Mayor of Budva announced. He said that a certain number of planned investments on Budva Riviera have to be stopped due to the impact of the world economic crisis. Still, none of the major investors gave up their projects-they await better times. He believes that «Mirax Balkan» will finish the project«Astra Montenegro».
Budva (Mina-Business Agency) - So far, the municipality of Budva collected only €14.5 million from utility charges- the Mayor of Budva, Rajko Kuljača, , announced.
« Only €14.5 million has been collected up to this point, because of problems we have with big investors. We will start collecting more intensively in autumn since this issue has to be solved» –Kuljača informed Mina Business Agency.
He reminded that out of the planned EUR 108 million of the budget revenues 70%(about EUR 75 million) relate to those collected from utilities.
Kuljača said that a certain number of planned investments on Budva Riviera have to be stopped due to the impact of the world economic crisis. Still, none of the major investors gave up their projects-they await better times, he added.
He said that the Institute for Nature Protection approved the construction of golf courses on the Hill Spas («Hill of Salvation»), which is situated above Budva. This project will get the green light at the first session of the local Parliament, so as to start its implementation in autumn.
"Construction of the elite hotels "Kempinski" and "Radisson" will commence at the beginning of the next year", Kuljača announced adding that investors from Kuwait who bought "Galija", the property near Sveti Stefan, wait for the Government’s approval.
Kuljača announced that he was assured by the representatives of the company «Mirax Balkan» and its manager Vječeslav Leibman that the «Astra Montenegro» project will be completed in accordance with the plan.
