Visit-Montenegro.com: Presentation of the Heritage
Legends always inspire and stir our imagination. That is why we have used the story about the monster from Skadar Lake as a mascot of this-year festival. On Sunday, 13 September, visit the Festival and enjoy in cultural and natural heritage of this region, as well as in numerous activities.
Virpazar-Festival of Nature and Culture – “Lake Full of Wonders” is aim at presenting cultural and natural heritage, tourism offer and local communities of the Lake of Scadar. Within the festival numerous promotional activities will be organized. These are: windsurfing and kayaking in Vranjina (organizers provided 12 kayaks), sport fishing competition (competitors have to take their own fishing sticks and the fish caught have to be returned into the lake), biking tour 30 km long (start line is in Virpazar), hiking (Virpazar, hikers who want to participate should take water, hats and cameras and come in front of the hotel Podgorica at 8 o’clock where transportation waits for them). These activities are free of charge.
Other activities include small planes (price is 120€/h per person, one flight is free for those who call first, minimal length of flight is half an hour; this activity is aimed at experiencing the Lake of Skadar from bird’s eye view). Also there is activity - powered hang glider (40€ per person). Visitors will have opportunity to enjoy in ballooning, bird watching, visitors centers, exhibition of Skadar Lake local communities, art colony, and photo colony (all of these are free of charge).
In visitor centers guests will have chance to see ethno room, photographs of rich natural and cultural heritage of all national parks of Montenegro as well as presentations dedicated to cottage industry, olive growing, fishing, sailing, products from this area, souvenirs etc. Guests can also take pleasure in lake cruising, delicious specialties in restaurants at discount prices.
In the evening there will be music programme consisting of concerts of: DJ Chevalier / Fluid Drum at 18:00, the band Krug at 19:00 and band Letu štuke at 20:00. Entrance is free.
