Chinese eye Port of Bar

The Chinese container operator Chinese Cinsco is interested in opening a container line between China and Montenegro, the local press reports.

The Port of Bar may become a central distribution centre for Chinese goods intended for southeast and central European countries.

Current annual transhipment of Chinese goods at Adriatic ports amounts to 15,000 containers. Since Bar is positioned at the entrance of the Adriatic, at least 1/3 of these containers are expected to be transferred through this port. The Port of Bar is expected to provide a guarantee of the merchandise’s safety.
The port already has partner contracts with some of the leading container operators in the world.
