Podgorica – Podgorica and Zagreb are connected with a direct flight of Croatian national carrier, Croatia Airlines.
An “ATR 42” of Croatia Airlines, with 35 passengers from Zagreb, touched down at Golubovci Airport, at 3 pm yesterday.
Orhan Hodžić, director of the agency Oki Air International, who is the general representative of Croatia Airlines for Montenegro, has told Vijesti that the planes of that company would fly to Podgorica three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
“Plane ‘ATR 42’ will fly on this line, with 42 passenger-seats available. Already after the introduction of the winter flying schedule, this plane would be replaced with a new addition to Croatian Airlines’ fleet, Canadian “DAS 8 – Q 400”, which has a capacity of 76 passengers”, he said.
Hodzic stated that the ticket from Podgorica to Zagreb would be 35 Euro in one direction and Euro 70 for a return ticket. This tariff does not include passenger and safety taxes, or the fee for ticket issuing.
The interest for this destination, in accordance with current trends, is huge.
“Up until now, majority of passengers from Montenegro to Croatia had to use flights from Dubrovnik. With the introduction of this flight, passengers would reach Zagreb much more easily. We believe that good relations between two countries and increased interest in such travels would lead to the introduction of daily flights of Croatia Airlines to this destination as of summer next year. Passengers would, thus, also be enabled to use Zagreb as connecting airport for many other European destinations”, he emphasized.
Hodzic confirmed that Croatia Airlines was ready to accept a joint participation with Montenegrin national carrier, Montenegro Airlines in this newly introduced line between Podgorica and Zagreb:
“Croatia Airlines remains opened for cooperation with the Montenegrin national carrier. Talks between our two companies have commenced already two years ago, when Croatia Airlines started considering opening of this line. Negotiations will, most certainly, become more intense during the upcoming period. It is to be expected that Croatia Airlines and Montenegro Airlines will fly between our two capitals, on the daily basis, together”, Hodzic has concluded.
