Herceg Novi – A group of 17 tourists from Island, led by their guide from Slovenia, has spent last week hiking across Montenegrin mountains. Their visit ended with their two-day climb to Mount Orjen.

These adventure-oriented tourists from Island had been escorted with their highlander-guide, Zoran Radetic, a Slovenian citizen of Montenegrin origin. During earlier seasons, he guided hiking groups through Slovenian mountains and Velebit. This year, he also introduced tours to Montenegrin mountains.

For the first time, tourists from Island have climbed Mount Orjen, which was, in their words, very beautiful and unique for its’ intact nature.

After Bjelasica, Lovcen and river Tara rafting, Island’s tourists have climbed one of Orjen’s summits, which is 1,679 meters high.

Groups from Island had spent a night in the mountain home “Za Vratlom”, while their host had been Mountaineering Club “Subra.”

Slovenian mountain guides and their agencies, which are bringing foreigners on tours through Montenegrin wild beauty, should, as it is noted at “Subra”, pose a good example for local tourist organizers on how they could arrange similar events on their own.
