Contract on the Modernization of the Pedestrian Street at Zabljak Signed: The street connects “Durmitor” hotel and the turning to “Jezero” hotel. Agreed value for the construction of 750 meters of this road totals at Euro 650,000.

Zabljak – Head of the Directorate for Public Works, Zarko Zivkovic and director of “Mehanizacija i programat” construction company from Niksic, Dusan Djurovic, signed the contract on the modernization of the pedestrian street at Zabljak. The street connects “Durmitor” hotel and the turning to “Jezero” hotel.

Agreed value for the construction of 750 meters of this road totals at Euro 650,000. A 70-day deadline for the completion of the works commences as of tomorrow.

Zarko Zivković stated that these works mark the continuity in the investment the Directorate is placing in this town. He also reminded that a road from the downtown to town’s exit in the direction of Niksic was modernized in 2005. In 2006, Directorate financed the pedestrian road between “Durmitor” hotel and Crno jezero (Black Lake). He also emphasized that the time has come to embark on building the toughest 750 meters of the road. Additional 500 meters connecting “Jezero” hotel and downtown are to be built next year.

“Though its’ program of the public works, government had assigned Euro 1,150,000 for four infrastructure objects in Zabljak Municipality. One of these projects is building of the house for the fire-fighters, which would have 450 square meters. It will be completed and given to the users in the next two months, at the latest.

The funding for three kilometers of local roads had also been cleared. Additional 13 kilometers, which have been projected with Municipality’s budget, would contribute to the modernization of this part of the road infrastructure. A construction company that would be in charge of this works had already been selected and we expect that these works would be completed by the end of the building season. Works are also being conducted at two secondary water pipelines”, Zivkovic announced.

Zabljak’s Mayor, Isalo Sljivancanin emphasized that this year’s budget marked a record, as almost Euro 4 Million would be invested in the infrastructure. Beside works that are to be conducted on asphalting of the local roads, which had been mentioned by Zivkovic, Mayor announced investment in water pipelines in the direction of villages, building of sewage networks and construction works at Mojkovacka bitka street, which are estimated to Euro 300,000.
