Budva – Desalinization facility placed at Cape Zavala which is processing sea-water into drinking water was opened last night, in presence of Budva’s Mayor, Rajko Kuljaca.
Capacity of this facility, which had been financed by the Municipality, comes up to 200 secondary liters, which would resolve the situation of water supplies in the height of the tourist season.
Water which is produced by desalinization would be used until the finishing of the building of the regional water supply pipeline. This pipeline is expected to be completed by the summer of 2009 and would provide 1,000 secondary liters of water from Lake Skadar. It is expected that this water supply pipeline would resolve usual deficiency of drinking water during the summer season, when the number of Budva’s inhabitants increases several times over.
Contract with company “Montenegro Osmosis”, which is running Desalinization Facility project had been signed by the representatives of town’s water supplying company this spring.
