Budva – Building of the regional water pipeline for Montenegrin coastline would cost at least Euro 62 Million, half of which would be provided by the government, while the rest would be invested by the Regional Water Supply Company, World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, it was stated at yesterday’s press conference.
Director of Regional Water Supply Company, Zoran Bosnjak repeated that this project would be implemented in two stages and that it would transport additional 1,500 secondary liters of water to Montenegrin coastline.
“Government has decided that the construction works would also continue during the summer and we are allowed to work in one shift.
Part of the work from Djurmani to Bar is conducted by Turkish company “Gintas.”
At the moment, they are laying pipeline which is 2,700 meters long.
“Integral” company from Banja Luka is responsible for works from Djurmani to Budva. This part is 26 kilometers long.
At the end of May, part of the pipeline going through Becici beach had been completed, so that 1,600 meters out of 1,800 which have been planned is now finished.
What we have left is around 600 meters to Rafailovici.
“Integral” is also working at Kufin-hill. Length of this part is between 2,300 and 2,500 meters.
We have been promised that we would have around 2, 5 kilometers of water-pipeline by 10 September”, Bosnjak said.
He also announced that works in Budva would continue in October, at the section from Becici beach to the roundabout, across Zavala to Toplis, which is “some three kilometers.”
“Water well, water pump at Reljici and renewal of Djurmani reservoir, are regulated with the contract which had been signed on 31 July with ‘Jedinstvo’ company from Uzice.
We expect to sign another Euro three million contract with the World Bank, which would be used for the section from Bar to Ulcinj.
World Bank is co-financing continental part and southern coastal section, while European Bank for Reconstruction and Development contributed to the northern coastal section with Euro 15 Million”, Bosnjak said.
Local Companies Should Join In
Nearly one quarter of the Regional Water Pipeline belongs to Montenegrin Fund for Development.
Director, Dragan Lajovic said that the Chairing Board of this Fund has reached the decision in March to “engage at the project of the Regional water pipeline and take active part in the financing of this strategically important project for Montenegro.”
“We have invested Euro 5,4 Million, so that the Fund owns a bit more than 23 percent of this company, Beside the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, government and the Fund, I also expect that local public companies would take part in this project”, Lajovic stated.
