Cuts in Water Supplies in Herceg Novi as of September: Rationing of tap water in the Municipality of Herceg Novi will continue also in September, Water Supply Company has announced. Technical director of the company, Milorad Velas says that hydrological situation has been very bad and that the insufficient amounts of water had to do with the use of huge amounts of water.

Herceg Novi and its surrounding have 380 liters of water per second at disposal.
From the local Opacica well, Riviera receives only 50, while Trebesnjica system, with the pipeline going through Croatia, brings only 330 liters per second.
Since the beginning of restrictions one month ago, number of tourists has decreased significantly, but the amount of water is still insufficient.
Velas said that the use of water in the height of the season had been ten times higher than during the remaining months.
First rains, he added, will not bring any significant improvement, which can be expected only once the capacities of Opacic are fully recovered.
