Visit-Montenegro.com : The Most Expensive Yacht Worth Euro 5,75 Million

Over the last couple of years, we are witnesses of Kotor’s newly acquired image as an inevitable and increasingly popular port of choice for nautical tourist from the whole of Europe and entire world.
This year’s “Kotor Boat Show”, which opened in Kotor yesterday, gathered 30 companies from all around the world, presenting more than 50 vessels, yachts, sailing boats, motor boats, speeding boats and fishing boats.

At the same time, we are strengthening this segment of our tourist offer and affirming Kotor as an important destination for nautical tourists”, Mayor of Kotor, Marija Catovic stated yesterday, as she proclaimed the opening of the Fourth Nautical Fair “Kotor Boat Show.”

She expressed her satisfaction with the fact that this fair was, slowly but surely, becoming an “important nautical event.”

Catovic congratulated the organizers who “followed their vision and pursued with this ambitious project with a vision and, in that way, contributed greatly to the promotion of Kotor and Montenegro as a remarkably attractive nautical destination.”

Chairman of the Board of Directors of AD “Port of Kotor”, Nikola Konjevic emphasized that this year’s Nautical Fair, in terms of the number of participants and quality of vessels displayed, was, by far, the most successful Kotor’s fair to this date. He also expressed his wish that this event would be included in the annual calendar of regular tourist and cultural events in Kotor.

Konjevic also praised the decision of the organizer to set up this event in the post-season period, in order to make it longer.

This year’s “Kotor Boat Show” gathered 30 companies, presenting more than 50 vessels, yachts, sailing boats, motor boats, speeding boats and fishing boats. Visitors can also see or buy nautical, scuba-diving and other equipment, as well as engines and cars.

The most expensive vessels displayed is Italian yacht “Sirea”, which costs Euro 5,75 Million. The cheapest boat costs Euro 5,000.

Participants include: "Albatros Marine", "Radius", "Sv-Rsa","Navar", "Monte Marine Yachting","Una", "Bond International", "Prokom", "Dr Yachting- de Birs", "Montenegro Charter Company", "Yacht 202-Jeanneau", "Parus-M", "M Auto", "Avel Yachting", "San Lorenzo", "Adri Balta", "A Mar Nautica", "Mennyacht", "Motonautica", "Mb Group" and "Profectus Group".

Organizers expect that between 5,000 and 10,000 people would visit the show during the next four days.

A round table entitled “Protection of Biodiversity of Montenegrin coastline” took place at club “Nautica” at “Center for Culture” last night.

This fair is organized by agency “Kotor Mar” and co-organized by Port of Kotor and local Tourist Organization.

Event is set up under the auspices of the Municipality of Kotor and Ministries of Transport and Tourism. General sponsors of the fair are “Telekom” and “Jugopetrol.”

Ambassador of Greece in Montenegro, Georgios Augustis attended the opening ceremony.

With the tones of the national anthem, Montenegrin flag was been put on display by one of our top water polo players, Mladjan Jankovic.

“Opera” as Decoration to Kotor’s Riva

Beside expensive yachts and other vessels displayed on the fair, sight of Kotor’s Riva has also been ‘decorated’ yesterday with the presence of one of the largest passenger-ships in the world, “Opera”, ownership of Italian company “Mediterranean Shipping Cruises”, which is based in Geneva.

This “dream ship”, as many call it, has been named by famous Italian actress, Sofia Loren. “Opera” left Kotor’s Port at 1 pm.
