Djukanović given mandate

Montenegro’s Prime Minister designate, Milo Djukanović, was officially given his mandate to form a new government by the country’s president Filip Vujanović Wednesday.

The move comes after the acting Prime Minister, Željko Šturanović, resigned last month due to ill health. The government’s ruling party, the Democratic Party of Socialists, then nominated Djukanovic to assume the post.

“I believe Djukanović as Prime Minister will be dedicated to the economic development of Montenegro and the affirmation of its social dimension,” Vujanović said.
